Friday 21st September 2018

Dear Parents/Carers,

Next Friday 28nd September, Year 6 have the opportunity to take part in Junior Citizen at the Franklin-Vermeulen Safety Centre, Rewley Road Fire Station, Oxford.

Junior Citizen is a fantastic experience where children are faced with ‘real life’ scenarios and have to think about how to deal with each situation; it gives children the skills to deal with a wide range of emergencies. All learning sessions are designed to be interactive, where children are taught a variety of life skills which focus upon how to keep themselves safe whilst potentially helping others who may be in difficulty or distress.

On the day, we will be leaving at 8.45 am and returning at 11.30am. Children do not need to bring anything with them.

The course is run by a number of volunteers from the public and private sector and is free to attend. The only cost incurred is from the coach company. We are asking for a contribution of £3.80 per child towards the cost of the coach. As this is a voluntary contribution the school reserves the right to cancel the trip should insufficient funds be collected. We apologise for the late notice but hope you will realise the value of this experience.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Jenkins and Mrs Robinson
