Dear Parents, Carers and Governors
Thank you all so very much for your support on Wednesday with ‘Wear a Scarf for Pauline’. In total we have raised over £480 for the British Lung Foundation in Pauline’s memory. We took some photos of staff and children which will be on the website today and were joined by Pauline’s husband Scott and daughter Torrin who are delighted and somewhat overwhelmed by the support everyone has shown.
We have had a great response to choir and the children have begun their rehearsals. We have a few more spaces if anyone would like their child to join. They must commit to all the rehearsals, after school on Mondays and lunchtimes on Wednesday plus a bit of practice at home as they have 18 songs to learn. We must submit final numbers to the organisation by Wednesday so if anyone wants to sign up they need to do this before the end of Monday. Mrs McPherson will brief parents about arrangements after choir practice on Monday. Please come to the back door of the hall when you pick your child up. If you are not picking up then we will send out information at a later date.
Methodist Church Visits
Year 4 will be vising the Methodist Church for the Harvest experience the week after next: Willow on Tuesday 3rd and Elder (Y4 only) on Thursday 5th. If any parents are able to help on the day to walk to the Methodist church please let the teachers know.
Nasal Flu Vaccines
Years R, 1, 2, 3, and 4 will be invited to receive the flu vaccinations at school this winter. The nurses will be at school on Friday 19th November and information and permission forms will be out shortly.
Please may I remind all parents that the car park is not to be used for the morning drop off or the afternoon pick up. It is a very busy and potentially dangerous place for children. The only exception to this is parents picking up from morning Nursery or dropping off to afternoon Nursery when the car park is quieter. I would be grateful if you could pass this information onto child minders / grandparents and other people who pick your child up.
Children will bring home their envelope for their Harvest donation today. They learned a little about Fusi School in Lesotho on Monday in assembly and I have asked them to earn their donations around the home this week if they would like to make a contribution. Parents are welcome to join us for our joint schools Harvest Festival on Thursday at 2.00pm. Please enter the school via the back door of the hall.
The closing date for applications for lunchtime supervisor is Wednesday at midday. Details can be found on our website and from the school office.
We will be holding the first of our open mornings on Thursday for children starting school in September 2018. Please book your visit via the school office.
We also have Nursery places available for up to 30 hours from January. Please contact either myself or Mrs Burnett for further information. There is also some information on our website about eligibility for the free 30 hours places.
