Dear Parents and Carers
Congratulations to Mrs Lenny Adziman one of our lunchtime supervisors who gave birth to a baby boy last week. They have called him Ryan and we look forward to meeting him.
Young Carer’s Award
I am delighted to say that this week we received confirmation that the school is to be awarded a Gold Award for our work with Young Carers. Mrs Hickman and Ms Batchelor have worked tirelessly to provide support and activities for the children who are part of this group. Congratulations to them and thank you for all your hard work.
The Year 5 children who stood in for Year 6 in the tennis competition were a delight to take. They were well mannered and showed great sportsmanship with shaking hands and encouraging their team and other teams too. Well done everyone who took part.
Please can I remind all parents to return the consent forms for photographs and also the reply slips to remain on Parent Mail ASAP. If both parents receive Parent Mail then you will both need to sign the form. We cannot accept emailed forms unless they have been printed, signed, scanned and returned. We will have no right to keep your contact details on our Parent Mail system after tomorrow and if we do not hear from you by 4th June we have to delete your email address and you will longer be able to receive the weekly newsletter without re-registering.
Confirmation slips for clubs have been sent out this week. Some of our clubs were oversubscribed so please let us know straight away if your child has changed their mind so we can award the place to someone on the waiting list. Children are expected to commit to the 6 weeks.
Community Garage Sale
This year, the Madley Garage Sale is going to be bigger and better than ever! It takes place on Sunday 22nd July, from 10am-2pm. To appear on our map, book your seller’s place for £7.50 by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will provide you with all the details you need to help make your day a success. All money raised will go towards our playground fund, Activate:MadleyPark.
A huge thank you to last weekend’s garden volunteers; Claire Smith, Paula Downes, Jenny Woodford, Ana Llamazares Prada, Ian Ferry, Toby Buckridge, Liz Fleming, Nicola Gargan and Elsie, Emma Lutton with Nina and Patrick, and Paul Whitehouse with Sophie and Alex who made the most of the glorious sunshine and shifted yet more of the soil that is being so generously donated by MJ Landscapes.
We’ll be meeting again to continue the grounds transformation on Friday 15 June 8.40 am to 10.15am meeting in the sensory garden and also on Saturday 23 June 10am to 12pm accessing the school through KS1 gate. Children are welcome on the Saturday session. Thank you for your support.
Friday 8th June
Children may have a non-uniform day on Friday 8th June to celebrate their World Cup work. They can come dressed in the colours of the country’s football team or flag. Hopefully they will be able to tell you which country their class has been studying! The week after half term will see the children enjoy lots of ‘ball-type’ activities.
Friday 8th June will also be Mrs Lucy Hickman’s last day as she leaves us to study to be a teacher. Her enthusiasm and energy will be missed by all but we wish her the very best of luck and thank her for all the wonderful things she has done for Madley Brook school.
