Dear Parents, Carers and Governors
We have been hit by illness this week which has created staff shortages. Our usual agencies for supply teachers have also been affected by high numbers of illness across local schools and we have found it very difficult to cover our classes. Considering it is a very short term I think a holiday is needed for everyone to recharge their batteries and get well. Please remember if your child has sickness and/or diarrhoea that they are not able to return until they have had 48 hours clear.
A big well done to everyone who took part in the indoor athletics competition this week. They all showed excellent support for each other and really did Madley proud! Madley came 5th overall in the competition.
Well done to Daniel Keyte, Nelly Allott and Lucy Hickson for taking part in the Boccia tournament at Carterton Community College. They showed great encouragement towards each other and were extremely positive about taking part.
Please note that the dressing up for book week after the holiday is Friday not Thursday as published in last week’s newsletter. Details about book week and linked activities will be published next Friday.
The choir are ready to go. They will be singing as part of a 1,000 strong choir at the Young Voices festival at the O2 on Tuesday. Please make sure that children have enough food with them to last the whole day, lunch, tea and snacks. Everything should be disposable including the bag please.
There will be no choir practice on Monday after school.
The children are in mid flow with our annual Big Science event. We would like to hold judging on the afternoon of 26th February and are calling all science based parents and grandparents who might be able to come and support us once again. Please contact the school office, Miss Jenkins or Mrs Wakeling if you are able to help.
Thank you to Mr Rich Hikins for supporting our e-safety workshop on Tuesday night. There was a good opportunity for questions and we have produced some information for you to look at which we will distribute next week.
We also ask that you read the e-safety agreement with your child and sign to say that they, and you, agree to the principles laid out in the agreement.
It is safer internet day next Tuesday. We will launch this with an assembly on Monday morning and children across the school will be exploring how to keep safe on line.
Little Treasures Toy Sale
Little Treasure After School Club will be holding a toy sale outside the studio next Friday after school. Proceeds will go to resourcing new resources. All items at low prices.
