Dear Parents, Carers and Governors
I hope you and your children had an enjoyable half term break. The new half term got off to a great start on Tuesday with a science investigation day. The children worked in groups from across the school and it was wonderful to see the younger children and the older children experiment together. A great time was had by all.
Staying with the theme of science I’m delighted to announce that one of our Big Science teams impressed the judges so much that they have been selected to take part in the Grand Final at Abbott Diabetes Care on 6th July. Congratulations to Charlie, Zoe, Kira and Amy in Year 6 for their work investigating the hypothesis ‘Do younger children have more papillae than older children?’
Best of luck to you all.
Madley’s Got Talent
We enjoyed an entertaining afternoon on the last day of last half term with the annual competition Madley’s Got Talent. There was a high level of competition but I am pleased to announce the winners:
Key Stage 1: Amelie Hobbs and Anika Adziman for their gymnastic display
Lower KS2: Elleni Buckridge for her magic act
Upper KS2: Torrin Cuthill who sang and played the guitar
Well done to everyone who made the effort to take part in the competition and congratulations to the Year 6 team for their organisation.
Break the Rules
This was another successful fund raiser for our school. We raised £508.50 which will be match funded by Barclays Bank and will provide much needed support for our resources this year.
We have a few tickets left. I have attached a form today if you need to order any more or if you know of friends or neighbours who would like to order tickets. The pick point for tickets is today before and after school outside the studio. If you have been unable to pick up your tickets today we will issue further information on how to collect them.
Year 6 Puberty Lesson
Unfortunately the school nurse has had to switch one of her sessions next week. These will now take place on Wednesday and Thursday.
Year 6 Leavers’ Photo
This will take place on Monday afternoon. Children will be presented with the photograph in their Leavers Assembly on the last day of term.
