Dear Parents and Carers

Happy New Year and welcome back to school for another exciting term. I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new families joining us and also to Chloe Bartlett who has re-joined our Admin Team as an Admin Assistant and PA to the Headteachers at the Bronze Barrow.

Swimming Gala
On Wednesday some Year 6 children took part in a swimming gala at the Windrush Leisure Centre. We all felt that it was a great experience. To begin with, we were very nervous especially when we saw all of the other competitors swimming but once we did our relay we were very excited to be there. After we did the relay we had to do individual races where we were assigned different strokes each. It was a fantastic morning and we all supported each other well. There was lots of cheering!

Little Treasures
Congratulations to Little Treasures who run our after school club. They received a visit from Ofsted in December; the visit went extremely well and their report is glowing. You can read it on our website under the Parents / After School Club section.

Class Dojo
Please can I remind parents not to post urgent information on the Class Dojo. If your child is absent or you need a quick response from your child’s teacher you should contact the school office.

Starting School September 2020
If your child is due to start school in September 2020 then the closing date for applications via the Oxfordshire County Council website is 15th January 2020, next Wednesday.

Census Day Lunches
Next Thursday 16th January it is our school census day. As mentioned in previous newsletters our funding for the Universal Free School Meal programme comes from the number of meals that are taken on our census days (averaged over the year). Last term we had an overwhelming uptake from Reception and Key Stage 1 parents and I thank you for your support. I would like to encourage you to encourage your child to have a lunch on this day.

To make it attractive the menu will change to pizza or burger plus a cookie and ice cream for the whole school although only the uptake for Reception and KS1 counts. Monday’s menu will be the menu published for next Thursday (Mexican beef and soya lasagne) so that pizza only occurs once in the week.

Lunches
Please also note that jacket potatoes are on offer 4 days a week, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, in addition to the published menu.

This month’s 100 club was drawn by the admin team.
