Our Current Value is: Respect

Dear Parents and Carers

Attached to the Newsletter today is a flyer advertising our dress down day on 1st February.  This is to raise money for the school garden.  Children are invited to wear green or something flowery.  I hope you will be able to support this project fund raiser.

Reading Survey

As English coordinator, I am looking into children’s attitudes to reading. As part of this, I am asking parents to complete a survey looking into reading habits to better paint a picture of reading in the Madley Brook School community. It is a very short survey and is anonymous. It will be open for one week (until 1st February) and the data from it will be used to feedback to parents and children in term 4.

The above link will take you to the survey.

Thank you in anticipation of your continued support,

Mr B McPherson

100 Club

We are at the end of our half yearly 100 Club membership and letters are out again inviting parents and members of our school community to join or re-join. Additional forms are available on our website under Letters.  Please return your forms to school next week.

Keeping Safe on the Internet

Tuesday 5th February is National Safer Internet Day and in school children will be engaged in a number of activities to highlight the importance of this.  On Monday next week we will be holding a special assembly reminding the children about Internet Safety.  This is particularly focused at our older children who are beginning to use devices independently of parents.  We urge parents to monitor their children’s activities on these devices.

Years 5 and 6

On Tuesday Years 5 and 6 will be going to Wood Green School to watch their performance of Beauty and the Beast. All children will require a packed lunch which they will take with them.  If your child is in receipt of free school meals and you would like the kitchen to prepare a lunch for them, please let the office know on Monday.

Year 6 Boosters

If your child has been invited to take part in an out of school booster class please return your forms by Monday to help our planning for these groups.
