It has been a very short term but I think we are all looking forward to our week’s holiday.
Our choir excelled themselves at the O2 arena in London this week. They were part of an 8,000 strong choir of school children which sounded incredible. It was such an amazing experience for everyone. We are so very proud of them and they should be proud of themselves for the commitment they showed to learning all the songs. They are an absolute credit to the school and it was a pleasure to take them to such an event.
When we come back to school it’s Book Week!
There are lots of exciting things planned including dressing up as a book character on Friday, bringing in a book from home to share on Monday and breakfast with a book on Wednesday. We will be providing croissants and fruit juice but children need to bring in something to read. This could be a magazine, a comic, an atlas, a recipe book, an annual or anything they would like to read.
Your child is also bringing home today the Bronze Barrow Book Week Challenge, which can be done over the following two weeks. There are a number of challenges which encourage reading and an interest in books, so please help and encourage your child to do as many of them as possible. Bring it back into school during Book Week to show what they’ve been doing and get a certificate to reward all their efforts.
Please send in photographs as requested on the challenge so we can display them around school. If you can’t send in a hard copy then send pictures in on a named memory stick so we can download them.
We are all looking forward to a fun book themed week.
