Dear Parents, Carers and Governors
The final figure from the Silver Smarties is £1019.79 which is a terrific amount. This is going to be match funded by Barclays up to £1000 bringing the total to over £2000. We will be able to buy a significant amount of outdoor furniture for our playgrounds. Thank you very much to everyone who supported and organised this great fund raiser.
Our netball team are having an excellent season. They have won their last two matches with conviction. Here are the match reports written by Tom and Torrin:
West Witney vs Madley Brook – Friday 3rd February:
This was an astounding game for us as we did brilliantly! The people in our team were some of the best yet: Tom Hubert (ga), Alicia Mariani (gs), Corey Graham (gk), Olivia Estevez (gd), Edward Robbins (gk) and last but definitely not least Torrin Cuthill (c). We did amazingly well, Alicia Mariani scored 17 and Olivia Estevez scored 1. The outcome of this amazing game was 18-2! Come on Madley. We can do it again against Aston after half term, bring it on!
Witney CP vs Madley Brook – Monday 6th February:
Once again we performed excellently in a tight nail biting game. We executed well with the same team that beat West Witney. The goal scorers included Tom Hubert and Alicia Mariani. We won 5-4. We look forward to playing again because we love netball!!!! We always try our hardest and perform excellently. We look forward to being fortunate enough to carry on with our sporting triumph.
We will be holding our Big Science event this year in March and April. Children will be working in teams to plan and carry out an experiment to test a hypothesis. Judging will take place on 4th April and the winners will be put forward for the County leg of the competition. We are looking for scientists to form our judging panel; parents, grandparents and friends of the school who have an interest or background in science who would like to take part and can give some time on 4th April should contact Miss Jenkins or the school office. We look forward to hearing from you.

Friday 24th February is Busking Day at the Bronze Barrow!
If your child has a particular talent and would like to showcase this to the rest of the school then this is the event for them. They could perform on their own, as a duet, or in a group and they may want to do something like a song, a dance, tell jokes, play an instrument, do some juggling or show off their gymnastics talent. If your child wants to take part and perform, please can they rehearse it over the half term week and be ready to show it to their teacher after the break. Those chosen will perform in the Red and Yellow Playgrounds on Friday 24th February when pupils and staff from both schools will watch their amazing talents! If your child does not want to take part then please send them in with some pennies to put in the collecting hats. Money collected will go to a charity which the School Council will decide upon at their next meeting.
