Dear Parents and Carers

Bronze Barrow Barrowers
If you enter the school grounds at the Key Stage 1 entrance you will notice there have been some developments to the pond area. We have had a large quantity of top soil delivered to begin plans for creating a vegetable area for children to grow their own. The next working party group is meeting on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th May. The remaining top soil needs to be laid and planters built ready for planting.

Mrs Claire Smith who is leading the group with great energy would very much appreciate any help that you are able to provide. We very much appreciate the support of Mr Black who has provided us with the funds for the digger to get us started. If you are able to give an hour of your time please let us know. Thank you in anticipation.

Parent Governor
As part of the Academy process we have agreed to increase the number of parent governors from 3 to 4, therefore a vacancy has arisen. Mr Phil Carpenter, although a parent at the school and who sits in the Local Authority post of our Terms of Delegation, has resigned from the Governing Board in order to return to the USA. Phil has been a proactive and committed member of our Governing Body and we have been very appreciative of the contribution he has made. The LA reserves the right to place a new governor into that role and we have to give them 6 months to do this therefore we are not able to replace his role directly, hence the increase in the Parent Governor positions. We are therefore inviting nominations from parents to be a Parent Governor. Details of the position are attached together with a nomination form. Parents are permitted to nominate themselves. In the event of more than one parent nomination we will hold a ballot.

We also have vacancies for 2 Community Governors. Whilst these cannot be parents of the school if you know of anyone who would like to get involved please could you pass on the attached information.
