Our Current Value is: Positivity and Perseverance
Dear Parents and Carers
Congratulations to the following children for winning the PTA colouring competition:
Olivia Mae Rouse
In Terms 3 and 4, I carried out a survey of children and parents and their reading attitudes. After collating the data, I have produced a pack with a summary of the results and some helpful hints to encourage your child to read. If you have any questions, please see your child’s teacher.
School Council Jumble Sale
Sadly, there were not enough items for the School council to run their jumble sale this week. If you are having a clear out over the Easter break please save any of the items requested and we will try again in the summer term.
On Tuesday 2nd April 2019, eight Madley Brook Year 5 and 6 boys went to Tillsbury Park in Abingdon to compete in a cross country county final competition. The top 4 from our school came: Ethan 13th, James 21st, Charlie 53rd and Gabriel 77th. Jacob, Alfie, Max and Ned did really well too. Although it was very cold, all of us tried our absolute best and overall as a school we came 4th. By Ethan Clark and Charlie Ellis
Well done everyone!
On Friday 29th March, the Madley Brook girls’ football team played Aston Primary School. Both teams played very well and both showed all of our values. Our players were: Eve Yardley, Erin Simpson, Daisy Hubert, Emily Clanfield, Millie Claridge, Seray Dogan, Ruby Hobbs and Charlotte Overhill. At the end of the match the score was 3-1 to Aston but we have both made it through to the semi-finals.

Well done everyone!
Calling all Musicians
On June 13th the choir will be putting on a summer concert of music. Children who play musical instruments are invited to take part and have been asked to meet with Mrs McPherson and Miss Fillary to declare their interests and to audition for the event. Children may perform individually or as a group. If anyone plays an instrument that is too big to bring to school for the audition e.g. an electric guitar or a drum kit then they are welcome to film themselves playing at home and submit for consideration.

Cotswold Wildlife Park
Last Friday Years 1 and 2 went to the Cotswold Wildlife Park. When we got there we went off in our different groups to see all the animals. The first animals we went to see were the birds. Then we went to see the monkeys. When we went to see the rhinos the man told us all about them. We found a nice place to have a picnic and ate our lunch. Later, we went to an area called Madagascar where we saw big birds and some cheeky lemurs. One of the lemurs jumped on the path and some of the children got scared but Ms Evans jumped to the rescue!
