Our Current Value is: Self Belief
Dear Parents and Carers
Year 6 have completed their revision and are ready for their SATS. They have worked extremely well to prepare for the tests and have shown great commitment in attending booster classes before and after school. We wish them the best of luck for next week. There is a letter attached from the Year 6 teachers with some information about next week.
Our Sports Days have been organised as follows this year:
Nursery Thursday July 4th 9.30am
Reception Tuesday 2nd July 9.30am
Key Stage 1 Tuesday 25th June 9.30am
Key Stage 2 Friday 21st June 9.30am
KS 2 Competitive Thursday 20th June 1.15pm
Please note the Nursery Sports Day is for both morning and afternoon children together.
With the exception of Key Stage 2 Competitive all sports days are integrated with Springfield School.
In the event of heavy rain, the events will be cancelled and due to the timetable organisation of both schools it is unlikely that we will be able to rearrange.
Next Thursday is one of our three a year census days. Our funding for infant free school meals is an average of the take up of meals on the three census days. So basically – the more meals that are taken the better our budget. And we need every penny we can get this year!
Therefore, I would like to encourage all Reception and Key Stage 1 children to take up a meal on Thursday of this week. The menu will be:
Cheese pizza or Lasagne
Ice cream and biscuits.
If you can encourage your child to try something when they don’t normally have a school meal it would be very much appreciated. Many thanks.
The menu is the same for the whole school.
In September we will be running just one Reception Class due to a low intake of numbers not just in our school but across the whole of Witney. This means that some of our current Early Years staff will be working in other parts of the school in September and I will be able to give you more information about this once our budget has been approved and we know which staff we will have in September.
Sadly, Miss Jenkins will not be with us in September. She has accepted a position at another school in West Oxfordshire. We will be so sad to lose her from our teaching staff. She has been here since she first started teaching as a newly qualified teacher and has contributed so much to our school. We wish her well with her new job and thank her for everything she has done for our school.
Miss Cuthbertson will not be here in September either but her departure is temporary as she is leaving to have her second baby. We congratulate her and her partner on their wonderful news and wish her well in the next few months.
