Dear Parents, Carers and Governors
Thank you to all who have donated to our Harvest Collection for Fusi School in Lesotho. Between the two schools we have raised £485. If you would still like to donate then please send your child’s envelope to school next week. We are aiming to raise £550 over the course of the year to buy the primary school their very first computer. Thank you very much for your support.
Sadly we say goodbye and good luck to Rachel Carter who leaves us today. The vacancy for a lunchtime supervisor is still open and has been extended for the next couple of weeks.
Next Thursday is our school census day. For the benefit of parents new to our school, we receive a certain amount of funding each year to provide the free school meals for our Reception and Key Stage 1 children. An average is taken on our 3 census days over the course of the year and if the uptake is more that 87% then we receive additional funding. If it is below 87% we have money clawed back from our budget. This year our budget is more desperate than ever and if we could have as many children opting for a free school meal (in Reception Year 1 and Year 2) then we will receive badly needed additional funds for our school. The menu, to attract as many children as possible, will be either cheese pizza or hot dogs. This is the same menu for the whole school. I do hope you can encourage your child to try a meal that day if they are not regular partakers. Thank you in anticipation of your support.
Nasal Flu Immunisation
Letters were sent out earlier this week to children in Years R, 1, 2, 3 and 4 inviting parents to sign their child up for a nasal flu immunisation programme. This will take place on Friday 10th November and only children who have returned their forms by Wednesday 4th October can have the vaccination.
Please could you return your child’s data sheets to school as soon as possible. It is essential that we have up to date contact information should we need to get hold of you in an emergency
