Dear Parents, Carers and Governors
Welcome back to a new half term. I hope that everyone managed to enjoy some quality family time over the holiday.
Bikeability for Year 6
We have just 2 places left on our Bikeability course during the week beginning 20th November. Please note that we are unable to offer courses in the summer as originally thought and this is the only opportunity that Year 6 pupils will get to carry out the training.
This week’s Hockey Team won 2 matches and lost 2 matches at the hockey tournament. We came 3rd out of our pool. All children showed excellent self-belief. Louisa Solomon in particular showed excellent sportsmanship as she was our goal keeper for the very first time. Well done everyone.
Cross country results from 20th October:
Under 9 girls – 23rd
Under 9 boys – 24th
Under 11 girls – 4th
Under 11 boys – 10th
A fantastic effort by all of our children; they should be really proud of their achievements, especially as the weather was not particularly kind to us.
We are still looking for a permanent lunchtime supervisor to work for one hour a day between 12.00pm and 1.00pm. We are also looking for anyone who does not want to commit to anything regular but would be able to help out occasionally on a casual basis. Application forms are available on the school website.
Poppies and other little trinkets are on sale in school next week.
If you have a Shoe Box for the charity T4U then please return to school by Monday at the latest and we will arrange collection.
Material and Buttons
Upper Key Stage 2 are appealing for any old material and buttons for their World War 2 make do and mend project. They are making clothing for teddy bears. It needs to be thin enough to be hand sewn and can be sent to Miss Jenkins or the school office.
Kilvrough Year 6
A reminder that the second payment for Year 6’s trip to Kilvrough in March is now due.
Fusi School Lesotho
The computer has arrived! The children and staff are extremely grateful:
Collection of bags is taking place on Monday. Please leave them outside the main entrance during school drop off time.
The school PTA AGM will take place on 22nd November at 7.30pm at the school. Please do support this meeting (even if you don’t attend the PTA meetings throughout the year), this is your chance to hear how the funds you have helped to raise have been used for the benefit of the children at our school, to elect new members, to give your ideas and suggestions about potential future fundraising events and enjoy some refreshments! (More information will be sent out next week regarding election of core committee members).
