Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for returning your child’s data sheets promptly this week. If you have still not returned them, please send them to the school office even if there are no changes to your contact details.
Reading Record Book
Even though there are only 5 lines for recording reading in the diaries we do encourage children to read every day and 7 days of reading can be recorded in the diary by either drawing lines across the boxes or writing on the homework side of the book. Don’t forget to encourage your child to colour in the Olympic rings on the sheet at the back of the diary for every 5 days of reading. And they must have completed the first challenge before they can receive Certificate 1.
Calling all Reception Parents and Carers!
We will be holding an important but informal meeting at school on Thursday 24th October to explain how we teach reading in Cherry Tree class and what “phonics” and “Read Write Inc.” are all about. More information has been sent home on a paper flyer with your child today, so please check book bags!
This week in Assembly our new Values Heroes were announced:
Congratulations to all.
Our new School Council were also elected this week. They are:
Congratulations to all who were elected and well done and thank you to all the children who nominated themselves this year.
