Our Current Value is: Caring
Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for your donations to the Shoe Box appeal. If you would like to provide a shoe box please return to school by Tuesday 5th November.
We are also still taking donations to the Witney Food Bank for our Harvest Collection and we will be taking these to the Food Bank during the first week back after the holiday.
We welcome three new governors to the school. Our new Parent Governor is Linda Cowmeadow (mum to Ted and Arthur) and our new Community Governor is Richard Tilley (dad to Matthew and Bethany). Mrs Lindsay Wakeling is our new Staff Governor replacing Ms Ruth Evans as her four-year term has come to an end. We thank them all for putting themselves forward for these roles and look forward to working with them. Thank you to Ms Evans for her years of service.
Madley Brook vs Witney Community Primary
We started the game with Gabriel in goal, Ethan and Max in defence, Ned in centre field, James right midfield and Cameron left midfield and finally Matthew up front. The first goal went to Madley Brook as Cameron tapped it in the bottom corner to make it 1-0. Unfortunately for Madley, Witney CP equalised before half time. At half time James and Cameron came off for Matthew and Max – Ned went in goal for Gabriel. James threw the ball to Jayden and he took 2 touches and bang – the ball went straight into the top corner…2-1 to Madley. A few minutes later Witney CP scored to make it 2-2 as the striker tapped it in. But Madley did not give up as a brilliant final goal was scored by Madley. A great effort from Witney CP but Madley came out on top. Amazing teamwork from Madley.
by James and Ned
On Thursday 24th October, 24 children from Madley Brook took part in a cross country competition at Bicester Sports Fields. Years 3 and 4 did really well, they should be really proud of themselves. Years 5 and 6 qualified so that means we will be in the next cross country competition and we are all so excited. A special mention to Lucy Honey, she started off really well and was 1st but then she stopped as she thought she had finished but she wasn’t quite at the end so she came 4th, which is still amazing.

Nasal Flu Immunisation
A Parent Mail notification for the immunisation programme was sent out to all parents on Tuesday. This year you have to give your consent using the on-line form. If you have not received this please contact the school office. The immunisation date is set for November 18th.
Message from Witney Methodist Church
High Street Witney Methodist Church is running a session of Messy Church on the last Sunday of the half term Sunday 3rd November 4.00pm to 6.00pm.
Anna Pile shall be telling the Parable of the Good Samaritan using the Godly Play storytelling method. It is immersive, visual and deeply reflective. Godly Play
uses very simple language which compresses maximum of meaning into a minimum of words. It doesn’t instruct children what to think. Rather it encourages them to reflect on the story and make their own conclusions. Godly Play fosters spiritual development.
So, we shall be delighted to see the children and parents from Madley Brook!
I have attached a flyer for a new singing group that is meeting on a Friday morning at the Methodist Church for your information.
