The Bronze Barrow School Council is a joint organisation between the two schools and representatives are elected from each class every September. They meet regularly with Mrs Wakling/Miss Cuthbertson (Madley Brook) and Emily Maycock (Springfield School).
There is an agenda and a chance for representatives to raise points of discussion from their individual classes. Minutes are written and shared with all classes and at Senior Leadership meetings. School Council is very proactive in our Schools, and ideas from the children are listened to and acted upon if possible.
Children take an active part in deciding which charities our school’s support and they have an input in the fundraising activities for Red Nose Day, Sport Relief, Children in Need and most recently Creative Arts Week.
Last year there was much discussion about the refurbishment of the reading sheds, resulting in a plea to the local community for books, games, cushions etc and paint to redecorate them.

Maple – Rosie Buckridge
