Our Current Value is: Honesty

Dear Parents and Carers

Key Stage 2 delighted us with their wonderful concerts this week bringing our Christmas celebrations at school to a close.

Thank you to all the children and staff who have worked hard to prepare our Christmas festivities and to the members of the PTA who have served refreshments at each of the concerts.

Christmas Library Special

On Monday we were delighted to see so many children from Foundation Stage and their siblings into our library after school for our special Christmas event. Thank you very much to Linda Cowmeadow for organising this, and for Jake Mansell’s company “Narrowing the Gaps” who sponsored the event by providing the refreshments and the gift of a book for each of the Nursery and Reception children who attended.    The library will continue to open on Fridays after school for Foundation Stage pupils next term too, so please pop in, share a book with your child, and borrow one to take home.

Choir

Congratulations to our choir members and supporting adults for all the hard work they have put into their ‘Christmas Roadshows’ this year. They have performed out of school on 4 separate occasions and have received wonderful accolades for their singing.  They even raised £165 on Tuesday when they went busking at the town centre.  This money will be put towards their trip to the O2 in February which we are all looking forward to.

School Reopens on Monday 6th January

 And finally….

As another busy term ends I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who supports our school with such enthusiasm – children, parents, PTA, staff and governors. Thank you to parents and carers who present to us such well-behaved and wonderful children who come to school ready to learn every day, demonstrating such high levels of motivation and enthusiasm – they really are a pleasure to work with.

To the PTA, a small group of dedicated parents, who work tirelessly to earn much needed funds for our school; to governors for their support and strategic guidance and of course to all our staff, in all pockets of the school, who keep the school going day after day, sometimes in challenging circumstances, and never waiver in their dedication and ambition for every child.  Thank you.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year full of hopes and aspirations.

Yours sincerely

Katherine Spencer
